Stud Dogs

We do offer stud service either by shipped fresh chilled semen, or here at our full time canine fertility clinic.

Stud service is available to approved bitches.  Call for info and pricing, and stud service contract.

If stud service is done here, we offer state of the art progesterone testing, to target and insure peak of fertility in the bitch.  All breedings are done by A.I. (Artificial Insemination) for the safety of your dogs and ours, and done in a sterile, relaxed, home environment. Your bitch will be part of our daily, family schedule, with lots of love, fun, play, and stimulus.

(It is important for you, the owner of the bitch, to KNOW, that you CANNOT just breed on the traditional day 11 and 14 of your bitches cycle (heat) and expect to get a litter of puppies!!!! Over the years of testing progesterone levels to target ovulation in hunderds of bitches, I have found some to ovulate as early as day 7 and as late as day 26! So if you are taking your bitch for stud service somewhere and they do NOT offer progesterone blood testing...not some "dip stick" or "my stud dog knows" or "we just throw the dogs in a run together" you will most likely NOT get pups. I use to miss almost 1/2 of my breedings before using this method. Now we have only missed one breeding in 2 years.

Progestrone testing will also ensure that the insemination is done on the best day, with the ripest eggs, since they die over the 48 hrs after they are realeased, and this will ensure you also get nice large litters)

We can provide pedigrees, upon request, and send them to you via fax.

All of our stud dogs are "proven" and have sired at least two litters before we offer them for stud service. They have been extensivly tested for temperament and intellect.

Health Clearances on our stud dogs include:

OFA (only a Good or Excellent rating is accepted)

CERF (eyes)

NARC (narcolepsy)

Heart Clearance

Optigen ( helps you avoid one form of Progressive Retinal Atrophy (PRA). PRA refers to a group of diseases that cause the retina of the eye to degenerate slowly over time. The result is declining vision and eventual blindness. “prcd” stands for “progressive rod-cone degeneration” which is the type of PRA known in several breeds, one of which is the labrador)
