Personal Email I got from the judge, David Craig, on 4/14/09:
Donna: "...Well done on your Winners Dog award last week at the Potomac. I thought your dog was a real, proper, ultra-typical Labrador who could move - a class act!
Mackie's pedigree looks very interesting - a blend of some of the best UK and American lines.I am presently busy writing up my critique on all of the places 1st-4th dogs, however, where he excels is in being
unexaggerated all through with the correct head (length of muzzle, no cheekiness), correct coat - close fitting (not one of the long, open, thick coats which I consider to be incorrect), and the correct balance
(not short-legged with an over-deep body). I liked the overall style and showmanship of the dog too. He reminded me of a young Eng. Ch. Kupros Master Mariner who did so much good for the breed
here in the UK.Please let me know how I can get hold of the Labrador Quarterly edition in which the Potomac appears."~ David Craig (UK)
Some of Mackie's recent wins:

4/25/2009 - Winners Dog
New Castle, PA - Winners Dog on 5/21 and 5/22!!!!
Judges Critique of Mackie, from the official LRCP website:
Stanley’s Endless Mt’s Mack Truck, this dog took my attention from the very start, a most typical Labrador all through with a look of quality as well as being a great showman, his head is correct with correct
eye shape and colour, earset and length of muzzle with no hint of coarseness or cheekiness, strong neck sent into pleasing shoulders, excellent front, correct round bone going down to strong pasterns and
compact feet with well arched toes, excellent topline, deep body with barrel rib but maintaining the correct amount of daylight beneath him, strong, well muscled hindquarters, a correct, tight-fitting, short,
dense double coat of correct texture and an otter-like tail which he uses gently both standing and on the move, an excellent mover in all directions – fore, aft and in profile where he maintains his outline
superbly at alltimes, he screams ‘Labrador’ in type, temperament and balance and is one I would be proud to show myself, a pleasure to award him WD which was well deserved; (David Craig, UK)

Since 1988 we have been producing
AKC, English -build Labradors (stocky, blocky, large blocky
heads) for family, show, and field.
Labs are a wonderful breed, and we are proud to be a part of
their history.
We are determined to stay a small, private breeder
so that each dog and each puppy can be socialized to be
their best in the show ring, in the field, or as your
fireside companion. We proudly present the
consummate English Labrador. Our reputable breeding program strictly follows
the guidelines of the National Labrador Retriever Club
ethical standards of breeding. All of our labs have sweet, quiet, teachable
temperaments which has endeared the breed to so many of us over
the years. High Intellect is also a goal of our breeding. We
are proud to have had many of our pups enter
the search and
rescue forces all over the eastern US, and to have been excellent
drug detection dogs for many police officers, and have helped
in large efforts, including 9/11. Some have gone on to be great
hunting
dogs, and others as much loved "couch potatoes"
, baby -sitters, and family companions. Our dogs are blessed
with calm intelligence and a "you walk on water" devotion.
All pups are from champion lines .. Some field champions are
in our lines. Championships
include conformation, agility, obedience, some field
(after
all...Life is too short to hunt with an ugly dog!), and some
companion dogs and therapy dogs. Although our dogs are gorgeous to look at...the
most important ingredient in our breeding program is
TEMPERAMENT!
(we never keep anything that has anything
less than a "perfect temperament"...so do not ask us
"which litter has the best temperament"...if they did
not have flawless temperament, we would NOT be breeding them.)
Our dogs live in almost every US state, and some off the mainland.
Some ask "do you only breed dogs for show??" The answer is no, we continue to try to produce the "all purpose" labrador, retaining its natural hunting instinct, and retrieving abilities. Its just that we ALSO concentrate on temperament, conformation (structure!), and sound genetic health clearances as well. This means our dogs could compete in "shows" in either the conformation ring, field trials, agility, or obedience...any area you wish to enter
them in...or they will perform for you at home in whatever capacity you need them too. They are well rounded. If a fireside companion is all you desire, then they will fit the bill perfectly there too!
We are best known in the conformation ring, due to the stunning looks of our labs, with lots of bone, substance, movement, blocky heads, short, stocky build, thick coat, and otter tail.
Many people ask us about the size of our dogs, and they average between 80-85 lbs.
Our facility is 100% AKC approved, and they visit and
inspect us every two years.
The AKC is still the GOLD STANDARD of dog breed registries. If you run into any other (i.e.ACA, or similar), you can be 99% sure the breeder/kennel was inspected by the AKC, at some point in time, and was suspended (over the last 4 years the AKC has inspected every single breeder of AKC pups in the US, and continues to inspect everyone every 2-4 years!). Therefore, these offenders, run to these made up registries for those who are no longer allowed to participate in the AKC, either due to inhumane conditions, shoddy record keeping, or other inappropriate conditions for the breeding of dogs. We read about literally dozens, every month in the AKC Gazette, that get suspended each month. Hundreds of kennels a year.

Adult dogs at Endless Mt. Labradors are cleared for genetic defects including
eyes (CERF) and hips (OFA), and are conscientiously bred to eliminate other
genetic defects such as epilepsy, cardiac problems, cancer,
and allergies. All pups come with a full written health guarantee
which covers ALL genetic and congenital defects ..."from nose
to tail". X-rays on our adults are
evaluated by a Board Certified Veterinary Radiologist at the
Orthopedic Foundation for Animals. All eyes on our
adults are cleared by a Veterinary Opthalmologist for CERF
evaluation. Our stud dogs, because of their impact
on the breed, also have their hearts cleared for any hereditary
heart disease by a board certified veterinary cardiologist or by
color doppler and echocardiogram. (this is not something we see
often in the breed, but we go this extra mile to insure it stays
that way!) We do more genetic clearances than most breeders, you
will find. This insures you have a healthy, sound family member
for years to come. It may also save you literally thousands of
dollars in vet bills you may have otherwise spent trying to get a
"cheaper" lab. You can pay up front for a sound dog,
or you can pay MORE later...that is what I always say...and
LATER, you would pay more... if you are talking hip replacements or
anything like that...(Gee, I wish they'd given me a "head to toe" guarantee when my daughter was born!)
We do our best to produce quality puppies based on health, temperament, and conformation to the breed standard. We realize that not all dogs will be shown; therefore, we believe that health and temperament are extremely important when selecting a pair to breed. That's why we obtain clearances on our breeding dogs, prior to mating, and only breed gentle, affectionate dogs. We research the pedigrees, health and temperament (when possible) on our breeding dogs, at least 4 generations back, to minimize the chance of any faults being passed on to the offspring. However, pedigree alone, nor being AKC registered, does not insure a good dog. Each dog must be evaluated on its own merits, and according to the AKC breed standard.
We only build our breeding on the best bloodlines in the world. Along with our own excellent bloodline, our lines include Dickendall, Hyspire, Lobuff, Willcare, Boradors, Labradale, HenningsMill, Erin Hill, Carowby, Belquest, Snowden Hill, LorAl, and Lubberline, Tabitha, and many others...
Breeding is more than just mating a male and female. It is about choosing the right male to breed to the female to improve the line, for the betterment of the breed. It is a daily learning process filled with constant research into genetics, structure, temperament, and natural ability to name a few. It is about keeping up with the latest medical advances and research, talking with other reputable breeders, looking for trends - good and bad.
Don't be fooled by the word "breeder." There are a lot of amateurs who call themselves breeders. It doesn't take expertise to mate dogs; they can do it on their own. It does take time, hard work, and perseverance to consistently produce better quality dogs. This is why we only allow breeding rights to other serious-minded breeders. (see our "how to choose a labrador" page...these questions will trip up 9 in 10 breeders who call themselves "breeders", when, in fact, they are just "breeding dogs" and producing puppies!)
You should be comfortable with your breeder. We will be talking to you and asking you questions before we place one of our puppies with you; so you should feel free to ask us questions too. Please read through the entire website...you will get an education on labradors, and will find out all the details about us, the breeder. Not reading our website, actually, could open you to making many mistakes when making this, one of the biggest purchases and committments of a lifetime. Afterall, you have to live with this dog for as many as 16 years! It will be your canine family member for years to come. I commend you for doing your homework regarding this decision.
Although I feel it should be a "given" that all
pups come with first puppy shots and have been wormed...many
of you still ask. A health record will be issued including such
information for your vet. All pups have their initial 5-way vaccines,
wormings,
and are vet-checked. All litters are whelped in my house, with
me by the mother's side the entire time, ensuring proper
socialization from the moment of birth. Pups are monitored daily for health and
personality development, and are well socialized (with special
help from my 11 yr old daughter, Olivia, and many friends
helping!!!). Our pups are raised in a home/family setting and
are handled on a regular basis.Working from home affords
us the pleasure of spending the majority of the day in the company of our cherished Labradors. Our pups are sent home with detailed
instructions, as well as a health record with all vaccines and
wormings noted.
We love to
stay in touch with our new "grand-pups" over the years,
and many of you will become extended family!
We breed our dogs in a meticulous home environment
in the serene surroundings (2000 acres +) of the rural Endless
Mountains, and we have a family relationship with each dog.
Although we have a real estate holding/investment company, our
passion and lives are with our labs. When you approach our
property you will be entering our "lab utopia" , up here on top of the world, with a 360 degree view of the mountains and surrounding farmland...our HOME, the place we love to be most... You will meet and get to know the mother and/or father of your
puppy, and the puppy’s siblings when you come to make your
selection. We want to be involved in the process of helping
you select a puppy that is perfect for your family, your lifestyle
and your home. Please do not be offended if I ask as many questions
as you do of me, as I am responsible for the future of our pups.
This is, and will remain, a shared responsibility and trust
between breeder and owner.
Additionally we start very early building the health and immune system of the babies which actually starts with a strict
regimen the mommies are put on while in heat, and continued through breeding, whelping and weaning. The puppies also start an immune building regiment the day they are born, which continues through delivery and ownership by the client, adding to the health and
soundness of each pup.
Before purchasing a pup, please understand the
commitment that you are accepting, it takes time, patience,
work, and most of all LOVE.
Limited vs.
Full Registration: All pups are sold with limited AKC registration
papers (pets),
unless you specify you want a Full
registration... if you wish to have the option to breed. They are STILL AKC registered if they
are on a limited registration, their offspring just cannot be
registered unless you specify so, and we mark the registration
as FULL so the offspring may be registered as well, if that
is what you wish. If you wish to have a full registration on your
puppy, we of course want to have some input on which dog that would be,
and would also like to have input when it comes time to breeding, as we
ultimately care about the preservation of the breed itself. If you obtain limited registration, you may compete in any form of AKC competition, other than conformation.
We hold our breeding to a higher standard than
most, therefore, you will find we also hold our new puppy owners
to a high standard. Please be prepared to care for a puppy to
your best ability with high quality food and supplement, and
provide the best environment possible for your puppy to thrive
and live a long, healthy life.
Can we visit your kennel?? Of course!!!!! We do kennel visitations on select Saturdays. So call ahead for an appointment. We are working on a "tour" for you on our site, as well, as many of you live too far to travel to just "visit", since you may be flying in to get a pup, or driving 6-12 hours, so check out our "contact us" page on this site (bottom) for a little online tour of our buildings and grounds, house, etc.
Reservations: Because our pups are in great demand, most have
deposits on them and are sold before they are born or soon after.
It is wise to reserve early after reviewing all of our kennel
information and data on each particular litter. You may request
pictures via email of the parents of each litter, and the pups.
You may choose a litter, and color and gender of the pup. We require a small, non-refundable deposit of $95 when your reservation is placed (Visa/MC) and the balance
(of course) is not due until the pup is picked up at 7-8 wks.
old. We schedule people to pick out their pup AT 7-8 wks old in
the order in which their deposit wasreceived. Please
call ahead or email us for pricing on the particular litter you
are interested in. Our "pets" may be priced
slightly different than our "show dogs".
The deposit is refundable
if what you reserve is not produced, or it is fully transferable
to the next available puppy of your desire. Please enjoy the web site which was created to assist you with this all too important decision of adding a new family member. You will find information on how to go about choosing a breeder that is right for you, as well as information on how to go about selecting a puppy, what we have planned over the upcoming months, what mommies are expecting soon, letters of reference, and many, many fun and exciting pictures and labrador information.
Thanks for visiting, and please enjoy our
website!!!
